Get ready to see skateboarding’s top pros and ams vie for their piece of
$85,000 as the 6th Annual Downtown Showdown presented by Rockstar Energy
Drink invades Paramount Studios’ Back Lot this Saturday, October 2. The
top teams in skateboarding including Girl, Zero, Toy Machine,

Foundation, Black Label, Blind, Element and Powell Peralta submitted
plans for obstacles and Vans has picked the best of the lot.

Black Label, Girl, Zero and Foundation’s designs have been chosen and
custom built as part of this year’s Showdown course. Each team will
session the four unique obstacles in a round-robin format with awards
going out for top team, best pro, top am and best performance by
obstacle.

Expected riders include: Brian Anderson, Tony Trujillo, Frank Gerwer,
Rick Howard, Vincent Alvarez, Chris Pfanner, Chris Cole, Garrett Hill,
Tommy Sandoval, Jamie Tancowny, Ben Hatchell, Leo Romero, Billy Marks,
Johnny Layton, Matt Bennett, Daniel Lutheran, Collin Provost, Nick
Merlino, Elijah Berle, Marquis Preston, Taylor Smith, Abdias Rivera,
Adam Alfaro, Chris Troy, Omar Hassan, Peter Raffin, Tyler Mumma, Ronnie
Creager, Jake Duncombe, Kevin Romar, Sean Sheffey, Chad Tim Tim, Levi

Those that can’t make it to this year’s Showdown can catch a live
webcast of the entire event at www.vans.com/showdown, Saturday, October
2 from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm.

Viewers will also have a chance to win up to $10,000 in prizes from Vans

On Monday night newly Vans Syndicate inductees, the Baitshop in Toronto hosted the Vans Syndicate Launch party. We were fortunate enough to be invited for music, drinks & a ramp contest. In the video, Marc Bajcar a 10 year Vans vet does a crazy 25ft drop in off the railing! So rad! Haha. Big thanks to Five & Dime & crew, Stu, Jay & Bobby of Vans plus all the cats from the Baitshop! VANS: SYNDICATE BASH VULC x CHRISTIAN HOSOI

After a success in his skateboarding career as one of the top competitors of vertical riding, Christian Hosoi is back on the street, not literally himself on skateboard but a pair of kicks that bears his name. Vans proudly designed a Hosoi tribute sneaker using the Bash model with Hosoi’s legacy inspiring the concept.

A mid top shoe known to be the Bash is an exclusive Vans icon that represents Christian Hosoi’s early career as he excelled in the sport. This silhouette is smart enough to convey what Hosoi has achieved as a professional in the skateboarding field. By utilizing plain and textured premium leather on the upper, this shoe has quilted side panels with detailed perforations. The solid toe box is paired up with suede toe cap and smart vertical lace system. Off The Wall logo appears on the tongue with Vans tab near the ankle. White vulcanized rubber sole with black pinstripe complements the seamless upper.
