OBEY: Shepard Fairey - interview

Shepard Fairey - Obey to be Better! from Gestalten on Vimeo.

For those that don't know - Shepard Fairey is the man behind OBEY Clothing.
His art & vision represents more then just a clothing brand.

Fairey is relentless in his promotion of freedom of speech and speaking out against corporate America. Fairey also details his view on intellectual property, specifically questioning copyright infringement where one work is the product of a transformation of another (a technique he is most famous for, particularly across the several pieces he produced for Obama’s “Hope” campaign).

The video not only shares the interview, but also showcases a number of relatively new works. Watch & Obey. ;)

OBEY's Shepard Fairey “May Day” Exhibition at Deitch Projects

Yesterday the much anticipated exhibition by Shepard Fairey opened in New York at Deitch Projects. The show marks not only one of the largest exhibitions by Shepard Fairey, but is also the last exhibition to be hosted by Deitch Projects, before closing down.

It looks like a tremendous amount of people came out for the occasion and looked at a great array of new works by the artist. Fairey presented both small and very large scale pieces at the show.

Here below is also a video of the show. Make sure to check it out.
